Former Pickwick Association Committee Member becomes Chairman of Corsham Civic Society

We were delighted to learn that John Maloney, formerly one of our Committee Members, has taken over as Chairman of the Corsham Civic Society.

The Civic Society plays a key role in creating awareness of the need to maintain high standards of planning and architecture within Corsham and the surrounding villages and of the related environmental and historic issues.

Having been a career archaeologist and joint author of our recent Appraisal of the Pickwick Conservation Area (which is still plodding its way through the Wiltshire Council’s adopting process) John is well qualified for the task ahead of him.

John lives in Pickwick and, together with Tony Clark, is in the final stage of drafting a comprehensive history of Pickwick. Their book, ‘Pickwick – a Place in Time‘, is due to be published in the autumn.
