Don’t forget to vote!

Updated: Jan 11, 2022

All residents in Pickwick are being asked to vote in the forthcoming referendum on the Corsham Neighbourhood Plan which has critical implications for the village.

PLEASE VOTE – IN FAVOUR – ON THURSDAY 14 NOVEMBER

Pickwick Association is pointing out to residents that the plan has significant implications for the way that Wiltshire Council will decide future planning applications in the neighbourhood.

At its latest meeting the association’s committee agreed that approval of this plan is especially important to Pickwick and its residents as well as to those of the wider Corsham area.

Approval requires a majority of votes cast.  For this reason we’re appealing to all members to:

  • make every effort to vote in the referendum and

  • to vote for approval of the plan.

The question asked in the referendum will be: “Do you want Wiltshire Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Corsham to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Download the referendum version of the plan. For more details and background information:

  1. go to Wiltshire Council’s generic referendum page

  2. scrolling down the alphabetical list of Neighbourhood Area Designations

  3. click on Corsham

You should all have received your official polling cards in the last week or so.

“This is a matter of considerable importance to the community, so please do vote. “Your committee very much hopes that you will do so to adopt the plan, thus requiring Wiltshire Council to follow it when deciding future planning applications in the area.” David Taylor, Pickwick Association chairman
